INDORE: Playing with a trolley-table bearing a television set turned fatal for a two-year-old girl Divyanshi in Revabad locality of Dewas district (40 km from Indore) on Sunday late night.
The freak accident happened at the house of Divyanshi’s maternal grandparents at around 10 pm, when her mother Rina was preparing dinner in the kitchen and other family members had gone to attend to Divyanshi’s ailing cousin at a hospital.
Suddenly her mother heard a big bang sound and ran towards the other room, where she saw little Divyanshi lay unconscious with the television set and trolley on her chest.
The toddler was rushed with the help of neighbours to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead, Bank Note Press police station in-charge RD Mishra told TOI on Monday.
Primary investigations into the shocking incident suggested that the toddler hailing from Ujjain district was playing with the tractor-trolley, while her mother was preparing dinner. Suddenly, the tractor-trolley became unstable and collapsed along with the TV set on Divyanshi.
“The matter has been lodged under Section 174 of CrPc and the toddler’s body has been seized for autopsy,” added Mishra.
Divyanshi along with mother Rina had come to maternal grandparents house in Dewas as her cousin was hospitalised. Her car driver father Lokesh Gehlot had returned to Ujjain just a few hours before the tragic episode.
